Do you know your fallacies [list of informal fallacies] ?

People are often lead by irrational mind tricks and trips employed by high charging individuals.

Heuristics, faking social proofs, high flying stories backed by other stories, mocking people, and so forth are tactics used to win and gain support.

Bernard Madoff has never taken a penny from anyone ! People gave that money to him ! [Educated] people [of sound body and mind] WILLINGLY gave him their money ! Madoff has NEVER taking any money from someone who wasn’t going to give it to him.

Fallacies are tools of endearment. Watch this video below on Donald Trump’s campaign speech where he is using 15 fallacies in three minutes.

Your mind is not even aware of what he’s doing to you. Red herring fallacy, bandwagon, false cause, black or white fallacy, loaded question fallacy, strawman fallacy, slippery slope fallacy, personal incredulity fallacy, ad homini fallacy, and they just keep on coming.

What are some of the fallacies your boss is using on you ? Can you now see better through his (or hers) bulls*it ?

Here’s a video series from Adam Smith Institute, that, although quite bland, goes through most of these fallacies. Do not be afraid to admit you fall for these, and remember as long as you’re learning, you are improving.

My boss is every bit of the attention whore you see in Trump. He says we'd all be selling corn on the cob on the beach if it weren't for him.

My female boss is obsessed with us "being too comfy" in our jobs. She feels it is a personal favor I'm in my job. She's the superhero and we're all slackers. What can I do ?

I need to know how to deal with a larger-than-life boss who treats me like I'm an idiot. She Ad Homini (attacks the Man) all the time. She also does slippery slope where she jumps to unwarranted conclusions. She's terrible. She got her job from the main investor who knew her. I am not the only one who feels that way.

Hey pal, great idea. Why don't you pick up the phone, dial someone like Lloyd Blankfein, and have him commission a bronze pitbull. We"ll put that dog behind the dumb girl. Everybody will be screaming "dog chasing girl".

Everyone is fearless until they get into a street fight. Anyways, they should take that girl statute out.

Hey, that's a loaded question. Two things 1) I've tried to keep the blog non-politicized, with the exception of analyzing the game of power. 2) Nobody cares what I think of Trump.

"Appeal to Extremes" and other bullshit.

Look, you wanna make someone [cough*boss*cough] look bad ? Learn from Trump.
On every point they make, take the opposite side. If they say in a meeting: "we need to increase the number of salespersons by 10%, you say, we need to decrease it by…10%." Or "We should decrease investments in R&D by 3% this year. You can say: R&D is low. The reason our competitor [Y] is stronger is because of their dynamic, incredibly successful R&D. We should increase it". However, be prepared to face the consequences if you're wrong-this is anecdotal talk.

    Being a loudmouth can backfire.

Ingrid, people are being manipulated incessantly, without realizing it. You got to be able to hold your own.

To shake your opponent's resolve, deliberately misrepresent -straw man-, attack their persona -ad hominem- and answer criticism with criticism (-tu quoque-) like Trump.
