We have crossed two months since we moved to this website. New readers need to be reminded that we’ve been in existence for 6 years, and in the men’s lifestyle and career progression domains there is no other site like this. In fact, in the entire men’s universe, this site stands alone, brightly shinning like the North Star. The reason I had to shut off the old Blogger site, as I repeatedly said before, was that too many scumbags and lowlifes were coming at it. I think we’ve cleared that problem now, although there is still one piss-inebriated shitbag who limps around on Russian or homemade jet gum fuel. Not for long.

The Best Winners Site for Men

Amazingly enough, when you’ve made here, you’ve essentially climbed up Mt. Everest. Can it get any better ?

A few words on Jeff Bezos’s post

Yesterday I was asked what was my “opinion” on the now infamous Jeff Bezos post on Medium . I am not going to link or even quote from that post, which by now must have reached 150 Million views. [I’ll gladly offer my site for Jeff to guest post…why does he have to go to Medium ?…There’s a better site…]

Brian Koppelman, the producer of the show Billions, was quick yesterday to put this in his character’s Axe style: ” What’s the point of having fuck you money if you never say fuck you to people blackmailing you over your dick pics. Good for Bezos.”

Brian is wrong as much as he is right. We understand he loves hedge fund billionaires and produced a brilliant show for us.

Number 1: There is no such thing as “fuck you” money.✔

Number 2: Always hit the dirtbags first, which Bezos did✔ by taking the story into his own hands, revealing it himself before any third-party could do it.

Number 3: Privacy is a very serious issue✔. Some are wondering how that communication got into the hands of the tabloid. In fact, the photos and files you send over the phones rest on the servers of your service providers, they don’t just vanish into the thin air after you’ve send the text or picture.

Number 4: I’d say that Bezos did a fine job of “Catch and Kill” (at least how I understand it) because once those photos get published if they do, nobody could care less about them. There isn’t anything in there that is not already known. They’re really irrelevant. There will be zero impact from their publication.

Number 5: I wish every man would be half the man Bezos is. Now every man out there wished he had half his money, or 1/1000th of it, but even if they did, they couldn’t handle themselves.

Quote of the Day: “If you’re a man, you either handle yourself or you get handled.” -Miami Vice

I’ll finish quoting Brian again, who was productive on this issue yesterday:

“Fact is, public shame, loss of job, works if we let it. And we usually let it. That’s why I applaud Bezos.”

Have you ever heard: “Children are our future” ? You did, didn’t you ? They’ll be saying that same **crap** in twenty years. Can you trust something that moves away from you, and not with you ?

Meanwhile, old people or as we call them “seniors” are shunned and discarded like empty boxes of cigarettes. I have yet to encounter a writer or researcher that writes anything purposefully to embolden senior citizens. Most neurobiologists, for example, are concerned with scaling visible signs of tissue deterioration among the elderly.

How a culture threats the elderly, not the children, is a sign of that culture’s viability.

In other parts of the world, specifically in SE Asia, the elderly are valued and respected. And that makes common sense, does it not ? If someone has traveled farther on the road of life, they withstood more battles. More adversity. But in our modern culture, senior citizens are the subject of butt jokes (and treated like that.)

Wall St. Journal had an article Dec. 12th “https://www.wsj.com/articles/the-loneliest-generation-americans-more-than-ever-are-aging-alone-11544541134

“Loneliness is even worse for longevity than being obese or physically inactive.”

“More than one in four boomers is divorced or never married, census figures show. About one in six lives alone.”

Then pictures of sulky shoulders, overweight bodies or drab faces.

The article later tries to rebalance

“Loneliness and isolation are bad for your health at any age…”

If I was writing advice for 18-year olds, I’d be wasting my time. (they don’t listen to it, plus there’s no advice for young people except do and fall).

Nobody cares about the senior citizens or gives them anything. All people do is take from them. They want them “lonely” and defeated. Until I come into the scene.

10 Senior Rules

1. Make your own bed. Your greatest enemy is comfort.

When your siblings come and try to “do” things for you that you know and could do on your own, they’re not helping you. They’re digging your grave. They’re watching you slip away.

2. If you’re the meal ticket for your sons/daughters, I call that being pimped. Don’t.

3. Loneliness doesn’t exist except in your mind and your conditioning.

Snap out of it. The less people call you, the better.

4. Some people recommend multigenerational housing. I favor alone at home housing.

5. There must be an advantage to aging. It can’t be just wasting away. You have to find out what that is on your own.

Unfortunately, I can’t tell you what it is. I don’t sit around with nature’s keys. You need to earn that answer.

6. Who called it aging ? They did. And they made it a problem for you.

We can’t let other people call and define you.

7. Actually, being old is the same as being young. Compress time.

How do I do that, Max ? WTF, dude. Do what you did 50 years ago…

8. I feel Max is not telling me all.

You and your feelings…

9. Memory = Time = Flaw

10. It’s not how good your memory is, it’s what you’ve become.

Watch this video. This is what an alpha looks like.

I have to admit, I am a student of the mind. I think mind discipline is the foundation for critical success.

Physical endurance strength results in increased mental strength.

The BUD/S training is the 6-month training that Navy SEALS undergo before they graduate. The First Phase of BUD/S consists of 8 weeks of basic training culminating with “Hell Week.” During Hell Week, recruits stay awake for five days straight (only up to 4 hrs total napping time allowed).

“Hell Week is a test of physical endurance, mental tenacity and true teamwork where 2/3 or more of your class may call it quits or “ring the bell ”. Physical discomfort and pain will cause many to decide it isn’t worth it. The miserable wet-cold approaching hypothermia will make others quit.”

Source: Sealfit

What is significant in such training is not only the physical aspect, but the mental resilience as well. Going through extreme levels of discomfort toughens the mind. As often described, trainees become capable to witness, and than transmute a negative emotion.

“Transmute the negative emotion to its positive counterpart. For example, fear becomes courage, anger becomes commitment, jealousy becomes appreciation, shame becomes pride and despair becomes surrender.” (Commander Divine). Fit civilians would not have access to Seals training, but they could go to the SEALFIT Kokoro retreat.

Here are some lessons that anyone can apply.

  • Get tough. Get physical. While at it,
  • Push your boundaries. I don’t think anyone comes to BUD/S with the intention of failing. Furthermore, most of these folks are pretty much equal in terms of fitness, vigor and ability. Yet 7 or 8 out of 10 drop out. For the few that make it forward [to Pool Week] the drop out rate decreases drastically.  That doesn’t mean it’s easier going forward, it means the ones that made it through have increased their endurance baseline. It becomes clear those that make it through are the ones with the strongest mind and will.
  • The entire military training is based on the concept of discipline, So many people, in real life, lack it.
  • People come from military training changed in the sense that they overcome obstacles with less drama or struggle, because obstacles and retreats are a natural part of life.

What’s it like on Hell Week ?

After your 3rd day of staying awake with no sleep, you start seeing weird things – yes hallucinating. But what is really happening is your brain wants to go to sleep and go into a dream land so you actually start seeing your dreams superimposed on reality. You can be talking to your buddy and he falls asleep standing up. It is funny when he wakes up talking jibberish. It is also really weird to see cartoons running the obstacle course, or a little muscle man for a fire hydrant. One of our boat crew members kept seeing a wall and trying to push off the wall during our 12 hour “around the World paddle.” -Stew Smith, @ Military.com
