Last summer Business Insider reproduced Cullen Roche (Pragmatic Capitalism) named-title post on the significance of bloggers in finance (How blogging changed Wall Street).

Here are some bullet points from that article:

  • “It used to be that the most interesting research and analysis was being done at big banks or in finance journals.
  • But now, offering transparency online through blogging is providing a totally different client facing experience.
  • Today, if you’re not reading blogs or following the smartest people on Finance Twitter you are missing the most interesting discussions in finance.”- Cullen Roche

There is no article on the best blogs for personal strategy and success, but if there ever was one, this blog would rank at No. 1.  Either that or be conveniently ignored.

For a number of months I have resisted setting up a Patreon account for my loyal readers. That has changed. If you are a serious reader, I  now have a Patreon you can join to increase your knowledge base and your interaction with this author. There are 3 monthly membership levels: read carefully the description of each.

1. From now on the best posts (or whatever I consider to be the most relevant) will only be on Patreon. You can join today for as low as $8.95/month.

2. Most writers who target men’s issues have moved or are moving to a membership level (eg.: Charles Sledge).  Most already have a fan-only area, such as Patreon.

3. I have been testing a membership-level model for this site for a few weeks. The result was a failure of the system. It didn’t work because even a 15-year old can go around it. Cheaters are going to cheat. To those cheaters: If you think you’re gonna go through life, cheat and ever amount to anything, you’re more stupid than a broken toaster. You’re a piece of shit. But you already knew that.

4. Whether I have one supporter or one hundred, it matters not. I will deliver the same quality.
To inaugurate the launch of my Patreon account, I have written the first article, Ignoring other people is a skill: I’ll show you how here.  I hope you’ll enjoy it.

From my Patreon creator account description:

The World As It Is

The headlines on November 19th, 2018: Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, earlier in the year gathered his top lieutenants and told them that Facebook was “at war”. (Wall Street Journal article link) If a $75-Billion executive is “at war”, what about the rest of us? What about us who struggle to balance our checkbooks every week? We’re “at war” for our own very survival. At work. At home. No one gives you any credit for anything unless you know how to stand up for yourself. The importance of a shrewd strategy in a fundamentally unequal, predatory work and marketplace cannot be underestimated. There is a perennial smokescreen people, especially leaders, use in order to obfuscate, deflect and misdirect.”

I thank in advance to all who decide to become patrons. Your patronage is appreciated.
