WSJ, Jumping Like a Bunny Is America’s Wildest Fitness Trend, Mon, May 15th, 2023

According to PInterest Predicts 2023 report, primal movement is the fitness trend of the year.

I guess paying attention later is better than never. I know this “trend” is here to stay in stark contrast to our fake, distorted and increasingly anti-masculine modern society.

The news of the week is, of course, the failure and takeover of Silicon Valley Bank by regulators. Years ago, when I talked about the widespread mess in the venture capital world, almost nobody paid attention. Now with a run on this bank, folks are mindful of some of the things we said [power comes at a price]. I suggest you read this commentary where Fed’s insanely high interest rate increases is to blame for this mess.

Power is egregiously concentrated in the hands of a few, and that’s never going to change.

Time is favoring the wicked. It’s the way of the world.

One of the reasons I am blocked on most corporate intranets, attacked every day, and shadowbanned is the fact that I expose the fraudsters in Silicon Valley and the Valley of the Zombies that is Wall Street.

It took years and years (we started here 10 years ago) for a reclusive corner of the academic world to come to the conclusion I came to 10 years ago: that accounting and earnings fraud is pervasive in America and goes, for the most part, undetected.

From NYT”

Dyck is a professor of finance at the University of Toronto, who just published a provocative new study on the pervasiveness of corporate fraudThe study has been passed around in the world of academia in recent weeks, and has become a fascination among general counsels, corporate leaders and investors.
It suggests that only about a third of frauds in public companies actually come to light, and that fraud is disturbingly common. Dyck and his co-authors estimate that about 40 percent of companies are committing accounting violations and that 10 percent are committing what is considered securities fraud, destroying 1.6 percent of equity value each year — about $830 billion in 2021.
“What people don’t get is how widespread the problem of corporate fraud is,” Dyck said about his study, which was published in the Review of Accounting Studies this month.

Perhaps you have seen the prevalence of video in the past year or so. Blogging (for men) appears to be relegated to history. Yet a few courageous fellows -myself included- are still writing (I am at my number 474 article since we started on this journey, back in 2013).

I will acknowledge, however, that the golden age of blogs and journals is behind us. That’s one of the reasons I incudes a video in most posts, whether directed related to the writing or not. Blogging is a losing business monetary wise, and those of us still writing are just happy to share our thoughts and discoveries with the world.

There are hundreds, if not thousands of newbies -some of whom bill themselves as coaches – who post on the subject of testosterone and anti-aging within the space of “self-improvement” for men.

A lot of men, some as young as 30, do TRT (injections, although it could be done as gel/patches/subcutaneous pellets). There are four types of injectable testosterone: enanthate, cypionate, propionate, and testosterone suspension. Many will recommend TRT and say that it has worked for them. Make sure that you do it under medical supervision if you decide to do it.

There are some who’ve taken it further and do peptides and HGH (IGF-1 LR3 + CJC 1295 + Ipamorelin is one protocol available). I have not done the research on peptides and could not speak for or against it. Physio Logic of New York lists here some of these peptides and their purported benefits.

But live a heathy lifestyle if you can.

This post will not be complete without the Ice Man, Wim Hof, which we first featured on the blog 5 years ago.

There aren’t many blogs dedicated to men’s self-improvement left in the world. Even less so blogs written by finance professionals. Since years ago, I subscribe to the updates to two blogs [left] that define their space, one is David Asprey’s and another Michael Syding’s, the former [and more recently, active] European Hedge Fund manager of the Year. Of course, Asprey of Bulletproof Diet became famous years ago and has a sizable (in the millions) following, he’s been known as the “Number One biohacker” for years. His eight books [I believe they’re eight, but I could be wrong] are all exceptional reads, I recommended them all and even did a book of his review couple of years ago.

Syding’s latest newsletter post, How the World Work, is very rich in theosophical and existential treaties. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Obviously, I can’t reproduce it here, but he’s keen on *meetings* being the core of everything and consciousness, not matter or time, is what defines existence. [I spoke about the non-existence of time already back in 2019]. Karl-Mikhael Syding ends up signing his newsletter with the title “Aspiring Sheng-Jen”. According to the Oxford dictionary, a Sheng Jen is in China, one who hears the way of Heaven (Tʾien) and develops understanding, often translated as ‘sage’. Sheng-jen is therefore the ideal wise person who penetrates the hidden meaning of all things and lives accordingly.”

This year, I brought to your attention the Indian mystic Sadhguru . I hope you’ve read my book review of his latest book weeks earlier, and that contemporary mystic Sadhguru has inspired you.

In the beginning was a field…Syding says. Not the Big Bang. What happens is human mind can only perceive snapshots, beginnings and ends, labels. These are our limitations. Past, future. Snapshots of the human mind.

I see this “field” as emanating from the present. The future is made now…and so is the past. Poor human snapshots of reality the mind of the common folk is unable to grasp. The Universe is marching towards its end as well as towards its “beginning” concurrently, because there is no “beginning” or “end” to begin with.

In the Zone (Sadhguru’s latest short video) with former rugby player Jonny Wilkinson, CBE.

It seems that every time I write about HBS, the more I get attacked. The WSJ did a piece on Harvard’s Yacht parties last weekend: The Ultimate M.B.A. Networking Event? A Yacht Party in Croatia. (they don’t get attacked, since journalism on that scale can’t be silenced). The folks who spends thousands on these parties (“Yacht Week” brought in $13 million! to the organizer, an outfit by the name of Day 8) are mostly freshmen. It’s not just Harvies, but Tuckies and others, too (Tuckies would be students at Tuck School of Business, Darmouth).

“The number of MBA-dedicated yachts expanded from 12 in 2019 to 95 in 2021, according to Day 8. These year there were 42 M.B.A. boats carrying roughly 500 people, according to the company. HBS students alone booked 28 yachts that took part in the festivities, up from 20 in 2021. Photos posted on Instagram last month showed some Yacht Week attendees in matching white hats with the HBS crest and a sailboat. Students from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business and Tuck came aboard, too, according to Day 8.”

Dear Applicant,

You got a lot of “yes” votes, so we are delighted to initiate our community-stakeholder interview.

Could you come by Bubble HQ tomorrow and give a thirty-minute ted-style talk to an auditorium of six hundred employees, followed by a Q. & A.? Think of it as one very big interview where everyone can see what you bring to the table!

Your topic is “The Future of U.I.”

P.S. The tone of the talk should be jovial, with some great zingers.

The New Yorker

The never ending steps (streams ?) of interviews. What happened with the two interviews (or three, max.) you used to have ?
